"I believe my art is like a wardrobe, an ever growing wardrobe. I look through the closet of my mind, emotions, and experiences to see what I will clothe the canvas with each day. It’s like a journey within my soul, I adorn the canvas with a wardrobe the viewer tries on and emotionally as well as mentally melds with their own. I believe my art is my best form of communication."
Whiterose's Story
"I have been drawing since the age of six. I’m a 48 year old autistic, epileptic (with over 100 seizures daily), partially colorblind artist that took up painting four years ago. I have no formal training in art. God teaches me as I go and guides my hand through technique and color. Though I am disabled, I find the abilities beyond my disabilities and persevere with sheer determination. I work 15 min at a time on my art hoping to minimize seizures while creating, though, my epilepsy enjoys art too. I don’t get upset over mistakes, I embrace them and incorporate them into my art. Boss Ross has happy trees and I have happy mistakes. I have learned to embrace that art isn’t about perfection, it’s about the journey, the story, and how you dress the canvas with the wardrobe of your imagination."
